I think a 1100mm version of this DH84 would have at least one enthusiastic customer

Snappy, it would be pure sacrilege to make a beautiful aircraft like that in foam. My vote goes to the Fouga Magister.
+1 on the GM, but I do hope they will bring the correct plane and not the plane from you picture, because I'm not 100% convinced that that is a GM.
and that's a Gloster Meteor F8.
- 2 EDF units small and powerful enough due to small air intakes and small exhausts
- wing stability, the EDF units are cutting the wing into 2 pieces every side
- maybe a low roll rate due to the EDF units
I´m trusting Scott he´ll work it out! My vote is for the Meteor. AND for the Fouga Magister!

Or create an EDF small and powerful enough for this model. Maybe a Twin EDF could be the right idea for this, 1 Motor between 2 EDF units.

Had such a problem a few years before, and the solution was a twin EDF. Model was a Heinkel HE-178 "Volksjaeger" and i managed to build a scale turbine housing with that. I also used a few "cheater holes" in front of the first EDF unit to get more air into it. This model had no chance to start with only 1 EDF unit, no matter where it was installed in the turbine housing. But with 2 units the Heinkel did an easy start from grass at the first try!
I think this trick will give a Meteor with nearly scale turbine housings enough power, it should be worth trying. To be honest, the Meteor don´t need to be massive overpowered for scale flying
