    Does it come with a battery tray or do you NEED to order either a battery tray (NiMH) or LiPo with it?

    QX7 is not supplied with the tray or battery.

    A poor decision by FrSky!

    Yes, but whats also odd is that Hobbyking doesn’t offer the tray.

    Isn’t it installable anymore in the current batch of transmitters?

    Yeah did so, was just wondering wether the connections might have been changed in the current model and therefore the bat tray might not fit anymore? Seeing as in all current specs I can find FrSky states that 2S or 3S LiPo’s are acceptable, but there is no talk about AA sized batteries.

    The connection on the Bat tray is still supported by the current transmitter. The same white plug is used still.
