Nose cones on edf jets are mostly flimsy pieces of plastic which are shattered on the first oops landing, aren't they.
As you're building the model, fill the cone with a formed piece of foam of some sort; blue insulation is very good for it's strong, but you can fill it with foam of an aerosol, which is the easiest. Careful don't use too much foam, it expands terribly. Try some tin can first. Make sure the cone can stand the expansion without deforming. You can embed it in a bucket filled with sand.
A filled nose cone really can stand a rough landing; don't go nose down though.
