9X battery polarity

We hear of 9X batteries being connected the wrong way....to prevent reverse polarity I have a sticker just above the battery bay showing + and - in the correct position (red to the right, black to the left when the TX is sitting on its base). Removes any doubts. image

One thing to be careful of that isn't fixed this way. Many of the Life transmitter packs are supplied by HK with JR style 2 pin plugs. If you don't change these (and you should) its easy to plug the battery into the Tx with the plug connecting to the two right hand Tx pins rather than the two left hand pins. This breaks the Tx main board. Why does the Tx have 3 pins anyway?

Good point. It is the centre of the three pins that is the positive one. The only certain way is to use a three terminal connector, since (a) there are many 9X TX's in use and (b) its unlikely HK will change to a two pin set up.

The 3 pin plug is the same as the balance plug on a 2s LIPO. HK sell packs of extensions for balance leads, I just cut a plug off one of those.mpjf012012-11-07 08:35:09
