Taranis X9D a good radio for all my stuff?

Hey all,
My DX6i finally broke and i'm looking for a radio for all my planes, heli and Xcopters.
I was looking at the Taranis X9D.
Is this a good radio that I can grow with?
Do I need to program it or does it work 'out of the box' like other radios?
Is it difficult to use?
Would you recommend it?

Thank you for any information you can give.

    100% yes. A great radio.

It will need programming, but once you get the hang of it is not difficult, and there are LUA scripts which are wysiwyg.

It is a radio that can be upgraded with alternative firmwares, alternative hardware (ypu can get a module that will bind with all your Spektrum receivers for starters, so no need to change those!!) and is one you will never outgrow.

    Go get one!

    Thank you!
What version do you recommend I start out with for a drone I want to fly as far as I can for cheap. The one from hobbyking with the module already in it? Got a link please?

X9D is an excellent choice. If you can afford the X9D plus go for that. I wouldn't buy a receiver With the radio, spend your cash on a module so you can use your Spectrum gear.
